SRINAGAR, June 15: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 715 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 08,726. As 10 more people died due to the virus the death toll in the union territory reached 4,205. Srinagar district reported 132 new cases followed by Kupwara district 65, Budgam district 63, Pulwama district 58, Baramulla district 55, Rajouri district 49, Anantnag district 36, Poonch district 34, Kulgam and Doda districts 31 cases each, Bandipora district 27, Ganderbal district 25, Jammu district 22, Kishtwar district 19, Ramban district 16, Kathua district 15, Reasi district 14, Udhampur district 13 and Shopian & Samba districts five cases each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 715 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 218 from Jammu division and 497 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 08,726. Also, 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, six from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division. Moreover, 1,830 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 642 from Jammu division and 1,188 from Kashmir Division. One new confirmed case of mucormycosis has been reported today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 21 in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Besides this, 76.80 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir. Out of 3, 08,726 positive cases, 12,407 are active positive, 2, 92,114 have recovered and 4,205 have died; 2,047 in Jammu division and 2,158 in Kashmir division. Out of 92, 58,141 test results available, 89, 49,415 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 22, 54,586 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 55,817 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 12,407 in isolation and 1, 59,202 in home surveillance. Besides, 20, 22,955 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 68,521 positive cases, 1,873 active positive, 65,833 recovered, 815 deaths; Baramulla has 22,781 positive cases, 974 active positive, 21,533 recovered, 274 deaths; Budgam has 21,952 positive cases, 933 active positive, 20,820 recovered, 199 deaths; Anantnag district has 15,591 positive cases, 753 active positive, 14,645 recovered, 193 deaths; Pulwama has 14,509 positive cases, 1,164 active positive, 13,162 recovered, 183 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,389 positive cases, 757 active positive, 12,477 recovered, 155 deaths; Kulgam has 10,750 positive cases, 521 active positive, 10,120 recovered, 109 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,319 positive cases, 378 active positive, 8,867 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 9,035 positive cases, 332 active positive, 8,605 recovered, 98 deaths and Shopian has 5,508 positive cases, 178 active positive, 5,272 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,047 positive cases, 1,422 active positive, 49,508 recovered, 1,117 deaths; Udhampur has 11,014 positive cases, 207active positive, 10,676 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,456 positive cases, 431 active positive, 9,819 recovered, 206 deaths; Kathua has 9,085 positive cases, 116 active positive, 8,820 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,008 positive cases, 231 active positive, 6,659 recovered, 118 deaths. “Doda has 6,435 positive cases, 854 active positive, 5,481 recovered, 100 deaths; Poonch has 5,892 positive cases, 676 active positive, 5,130 recovered, 86 deaths; Ramban has 5,628 positive cases, 315 active positive, 5,254 recovered, 59 deaths; Reasi has 5,535 positive cases, 153 active positive, 5,340 recovered, 42 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,271 positive cases, 139 active positive, 4,093 recovered, 39 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 08,726 positive cases in J&K, 21,880 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
