Ashok urges LG for strengthening of rural health infrastructure & provide doctors in all PHCs of Ramban, Doda , Kishtwar

Ramban , June 15: Ashok Kumar Former MLA from Ramban and a senior Congress leader has expressed serious concern over the poor medical infrastructure in rural areas of Chenab Valley especially, in Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar Districts of Jammu region and strongly urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of J&K to swiftly establish the healthcare structures and provide efficient human resource before the covid-19 third wave could hit and affect the rural and far-flung areas.
In a statement issued here, “He said this region has been deliberately Ignored by the successive governments in terms of health infrastructure, except under the Leadership of Former Health Minister and Ex-Chief Minister of J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad”. All Primary Health Centres which were established during the UPA-(I) & (II) government in this region are defunct from last 10 years due to lack Doctors and para-medical staff. He urged upon the Ministry of Health to immediately provide specialists Doctors and other para-medical staff to all of these defunct Primary Health Centres in the rural and far-flung areas of Chenab Valley.
Ashok further stated that if government seriously want to fight and control this unprecedented covid-19 virus, it becomes essential for government to also take serious note on the account of rural health infrastructure in this region. He also demanded one ambulance equipped with emergency services at each Primary Health Centres in Districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar. In addition, one Air-ambulance should be installed in all three District headquarters as the region is highly prone to accidents.
Ashok has further demanded free life saving drugs in all PHCs, Sub-centres and other far-flung health related institutions in this region.
