UDA, YSS support demand for Jammu’s separate status | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 15: United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Yuva Shakti Sena (YSS) have supported the demand for separate status for Jammu province. In a statement issued to media here today, Rajiv Mahajan, Convener UDA, while appreciating the Shiv Sena for taking the significant initiative of demanding separate status for Jammu region, said that Jammu has been at the receiving end as a result of which it faced the worst form of discrimination for the past about seven decades at the hands of successive Kashmir centric government. There is hardly any area in which Jammu region and its people did not bear the discrimination. In such circumstances there is only one solution to this decades old problem and that is by granting separate status to the Jammu region, he said. He added with separate status the real representatives of Jammu region would be able to take the decisions for their region and its people freely without any pulls and pressures from politicians of other regions. Rajiv Mahajan and Yash Pal Khajuria, in unison congratulated the Shiv Sena President UT Manish Sahni for rejuvenating the demand of separate statehood for Jammu. Khajuria said that Sahni has been a dynamic leader of Jammu region and it is high time for one and all to respond to his call for joining the movement to achieve separate status and statehood for Jammu. He also appealed to the people across Jammu region to come forward to raise their voice in favour of movement in all the districts of Jammu region. |
