Mayor, Jugal lay foundation stone of walkway/green spaces at Shakti Nagar

Jammu, June 15: Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith Jugal Kishore Sharma member of Parliament, Jammu Poonch constituency in presence Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor JMC, Choudhary Surinder Singh Councillor of ward no.29 today laid foundation stone of development of walk way & green spaces from Pawan Ice Cream Parlour, Shakti Nagar towards P.H.E Office Mechanical Sub Division Shakti Nagar of ward no. 29 . Prem Gupta, Atul Bakshi, Sahil Sharma, Bawa Sharma, Karan Sharma & other prominent inhabitants of Shakti Nagar and its surrounding localities as well as Kishore Kumar Executive Engineer, Ashish Bhasin Assistant Executive Engineer, Susheel Mangotra Junior Engineer of Engineering Division II alongwith concerned contractor and other supervisory staff of Health Section were also accompanied the Mayor & his team during the start of development activity.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said that due to the sincere efforts of the councillor of the ward no. 29 & in order to provide more eco friendly atmosphere for the inhabitants of Shakti Nagar & its surroundings localities who comes for morning/evening walk on routine basis, this much needed work on about 1 Km area near the side of Ranbir Canal has been started today within the funds released under “My Town My Pride” project. The visiting dignitaries were apprised by the concerned Engineering Division that the major components of this prestigious project is development of beautiful landscaping, construction of protection wall on the bank of canal, installation of ornament grill, laying of flower beds, fixing of comfortable benches for sitting purposes, commissioning of rain shelter, placing of dustbins at suitable sites for collection of garbage/wastes, installation of proper lightening system in this park to avoid any type of darkness in the evening hours.
Jugal Kishor Sharma MP also spoke on the occasion & appreciated the initiatives of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and all the counci llors who are working as a team for the overall development of the Jammu City and assure that he will also provide every possible assistance to the JMC for the completion of left over projects which are laying in pipeline since long so that Jammu can be made a neat, clean & green City.
