Div Com Jammu holds Revenue review meeting with all 10 districts
Pitches for accountability, speedy digitization of land records

JAMMU, July 5: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer today chaired a marathon meeting of Deputy Commissioners to review the Revenue related issues in the districts of Jammu division.
Threadbare discussions were held on various issues, while the Div Com reviewed in detail revenue issues in each district of the division including, status of writing of Jamabandis, digitization of land records under (Digital India Land Records Modernization Program) and other matters.
During the meeting, the concerned DCs apprised the Div Com about the status of land record digitization, functioning of Revenue offices, vacancies, status of Kaahcharai, state land, progress on Mutations, Jamabandis, issuance of domicile, status of Lumbardars and Chowkidars, land transfer cases, land acquisitions, reimbursement of payments, funds, migrant complaint disposal, relief, status of court cases, issues related to West Pakistani Refugees and PoK Displaced persons (DP), land acquisition for development projects and other related issues.
While reviewing the status of retrieval of encroached government land so far, the Div Com directed the concerned DCs to conduct sustained drives to vacate Kahcharai and government land and maintain village wise records of encroached and retrieved land. He also took a strong note of delay in some districts regarding cancelation of revenue entries of encroached land and directed the DCs to expedite the exercise.
While reviewing the status of pending revenue court cases/ public complaints, the Div Com emphasized on speedy and quality redress of grievances and weekly hearing timely disposal of all pending revenue related cases.
The Div Com also asked the DCs to launch anti-encroachment drives to vacate State, Kahcharai and common land in their respective districts.
While taking a detailed review of the progress with regard to writing of Jamabandis, attestation of mutations and writing of Girdawaris, the Div Com instructed the DCs to complete the same as per set targets.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Survey and land records J&K, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan; Additional Commissioners with Div Com Jammu, Assistant Commissioner Central, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Attorney, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officers while all Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division along with ACRs, ADCs, Regional Directors Survey and Land Records, SDMs, Tehsildars attended the meeting through video conferencing.
