Poonch, July 5: The tentative list of teachers transfers issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch has been caught with flaws as alleged pick and choose policy has been adopted. Although the final list has to be issued later, the way this list was prepared is itself explanatory that some officials in the department have been misleading their superiors. Sources in the Education Department informed that only a small portion of teachers were kept in this tentative list and those teachers were considered who had applied for the transfers while those who had not applied and sitting in prime places for the last 5-10 years were not brought in transfer ambit.
“Even though in some cases the teachers who are posted in far flung areas and sitting there 8-10 years and had applied for transfer were not considered,” they alleged. They alleged that it has been observed that a man to man swapping policy was adopted in this transfer list and those who have been waiting since long for their transfer were ignored.
Shockingly, the guideline of requirement of teachers according to vacancy was not taken into consideration. There are several teachers, who are sitting in the city in violation of transfer polity were kept out of this list. Although hundreds of teachers have applied for transfers but only 15% of them were considered as per the direction of Director School Education and objections have been sought from the teachers who had been kept in the list and fifteen days time period have been allotted for filing objections, they added.
When Early Times contacted the CEO Poonch in this connection, he said that this is a tentative list and anybody who has any problem with the list can file his or her objection in writing with the office within 15 days.
