COVID-19: Recovery rate reaches 97.44%, 274 new cases, 6 deaths; active positive 3774, recovered 309133

SRINAGAR, July 5: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.44 percent as 461 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours. With 274 new cases the positive cases reached 3, 17,250; following six fresh deaths the death toll reached 4,343.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 274 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 113 from Jammu division and 161 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 17,250. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported, four from Jammu division and two from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 461 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 177 from Jammu division and 284 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 89.06 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 3, 17,250 positive cases, 3,774 are active positive, 3, 09,133 have recovered and 4,343 have died; 2,119 in Jammu division and 2,224 in Kashmir division.
Out of 1, 02, 55,161 test results available, 99, 37,911 samples have tested negative till date Till date 24, 79,558 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 10,200 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,774 in isolation and 2, 42,349 in home surveillance. Besides, 22, 18,892 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,345 positive cases, 724 active positive, 68,792 recovered, 829 deaths; Baramulla has 23,329 positive cases, 226 active positive, 22,823 recovered, 280 deaths; Budgam has 22,668 positive cases, 214 active positive, 22,250 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,172 positive cases, 143 active positive, 15,825 recovered, 204 deaths; Pulwama has 14,945 positive cases, 159 active positive, 14,594 recovered, 192 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,882 positive cases, 194 active positive, 13,523 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,123 positive cases, 154 active positive, 10,853 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,672 positive cases, 182 active positive, 9,414 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 9,344 positive cases, 103 active positive, 9,141 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,561 positive cases, 10 active positive, 5,493 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,442 positive cases, 494 active positive, 50,812 recovered, 1,136 deaths; Udhampur has 11,197 positive cases, 68 active positive, 10,998 recovered, 131 deaths; Rajouri has 10,751 positive cases, 105 active positive, 10,426 recovered, 220 deaths; Kathua has 9,219 positive cases, 19 active positive, 9,051 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,091 positive cases, 56 active positive, 6,916 recovered, 119 deaths.
“Doda has 6,913 positive cases, 212 active positive, 6,582 recovered, 119 deaths; Poonch has 6,138 positive cases, 188 active positive, 5,856 recovered, 94 deaths; Reasi has 6,071 positive cases, 320 active positive, 5,708 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,872 positive cases, 88 active positive, 5,719 recovered, 65 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,515 positive cases, 115 active positive, 4,357 recovered, 43 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 17,250 positive cases in J&K, 22,570 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory.
