DC Kishtwar reviews functioning of Jal Shakti sector

KISHTWAR, July 5: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress of works under Jal Shakti sector held here in Conference Hall DC office Complex.
Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; Executive Engineer PHE, Anil Kailu besides AEEs, AEs and JEs attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the DC Kishtwar reviewed the progress of works taken up under B2V, Jal Jivan, languishing scheme and district Capex.
It was given out that under B2V 15 works have been tendered out whereas the 16 works have been sent for Administrative Approval so far.
The XEn PHE informed that 17 projects below Rs 1 crore have been approved under Jal Jivan mission and the tendering process is under progress.
The DC directed the XEn to pace up the speed to complete all works in a time bound manner for providing adequate water supply to the targeted areas.
Meanwhile, the DC also directed the XEn PHE to check the wastage of water by plugging the leakages and taking stern action against the illegal connection holders.
He further asked for taking strict action against the violators and the field functionaries who are showing laxity in deliverance of services.
