Tributes paid to 'martyr' Dev Raj Sharma

JAMMU, July 5: A function was organized today on the occasion of 23rd death anniversary of Shaheed Dev Raj Sharma at his memorial site at Bajachak Sharma of 18th Grenadiers attained martyrdom on 5th July during operation VIJAY at Kargil. He had shown an exemplary courage and sacrifices his life while fighting with the enemies.
His death anniversary was observed today with full military honour. The floral tributes were paid by a contingent of 4th Madras Regiment. R S. Chib, former minister along with T.S. Bajwa, former member Parliament and family members of Naik Dev Raj Sharma paid rich tributes.
Chib lauded the role of security forces including three different services, paramilitary forces and Jammu & Kashmir Police for fighting with the Militants and said that the ugly design of neighbors Pakistan and China they never be successful and we have got very strong setup in defending our country.
Bajwa paid rich tributes to the Martyr and said that we are proud of our border areas who have contributed a lot by joining the defence forces and he remembered many other Martyr's those who sacrifice their lives while defending the motherland a large number of Sarpanchs and other Senior Ex-Servicemen attended the function.
