Lecture on Covid-19 prevention at Sabra by army

JAMMU, July 8: In continuance of its efforts to assist the local populace in the fight against COVID-19, Indian Army organised a lecture on 'COVID Prevention and Awareness' for villagers of Sabra in District Poonch (J&K). Villagers were informed about the Government initiative of free vaccination for above 18 years age group to control the spread of COVID-19.
During the awareness lecture, Speaker explained the local population about the Corona Virus, causes, symptoms and various preventive measures as per WHO guidelines like maintaining social distancing, washing hands with soap, wearing double mask and avoid social gathering etc. Villagers were also advised for warm water gargles, steaming and use of kadha. They were also educated about the online procedures to register themselves for third phase of vaccination drive via cowin.gov.in application. The villagers participated in an interactive session on COVID-19, wherein they shared their queries/ perceptions on the pandemic which in turn were adequately addressed by the Army Medical officer.
The villagers expressed their desire that 'COVID-19 Prevention and Awareness' lecture must be organised at other nearly villages, so that the entire region is made Corona virus free. Attendees appreciated the efforts of Indian Army and showed enthusiasm for participation in Govt initiatives against COVID-19. A total of 28 Villagers including 06 Children attended the event.
