Militant hideout busted, OGW apprehended | One more guide arrested | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, July 8: Police on Thursday said that it busted a militant hideout and apprehended an Over Ground Worker in Doabgah area Sopore, while as one more guide, who was a part of a foiled ex-filtration attempt last week, was arrested Police said on specific information a CASO was launched at Ganai Mohalla Doabgah Sopore by Police Sopore, 22 RR & 179 CRPF at about 1530 HRS. During CASO a militant hideout belonging to banned militant organization HM was busted in the basement of a single story house belonging to (Name Withheld). The Police said inside the hideout a huge cache of arms & ammunition was recovered, which was to be used to cause a major attack/fidayeen on the security forces. The hideout was destroyed on the spot in presence of the Executive Magistrate. One OGW was arrested in this connection. Case under relevant sections of law has been lodged at Police Station Sopore and investigation taken up, said police. Meanwhile, Baramulla Police on Thursday claimed that one more guide was detained in connection with the foiled ex-filtration bid along Uri in Baramulla district on July 2. Police statement said that during questioning of the guide namely Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam of Gohallan Uri added during questioning Parvaiz confessed that other guide namely Mohammad Majloon Sheikh son of Aakli Sheikh of Dudran Boniyar was also involved in the act of Ex-filtration of the three youth to (PoK) and on his confession the guide was arrested and incriminating material was also recovered from his possession. Notably on July 2, Police and army said the ex-filtration bid was foiled by detaining three youths and one guide, Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam, in the Uri. “Police received specific information that three local youths were received by one Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam (guide) in order to exfiltrate them to (PoK) through Gowhallan sector,” said police. The detained youths were identified as Mohammad Shafi Hajam son of Abdul Ahad Hajam, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad, both residents of Sheeri Mirhar and Yasir Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad of Chatloora Sopore. “Incriminating material including sharp knives, torches etc. were also recovered from their possession,” after which a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation is going on. |
