SRINAGAR, July 8: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.57 percent as 353 virus affected patients recovered in the past 24 hours or so. The union territory reported 262 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 3, 18,023. Srinagar district reported 53 new cases followed by Jammu district 25, Baramulla 22, Doda district 21, Reasi district 17, Rajouri district 16, Anantnag district 14, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Kulgam and Udhampur districts 11 each, Ramban district 10, Pulwama and Poonch districts eight each, Bandipora district seven, Kathua district six, Budgam district five and Samba & Kishtwar districts three cases each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 262 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 120 from Jammu division and 142 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 3, 18,023. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported, two each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Moreover, 353 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 136 from Jammu division and 217 from Kashmir division. Besides this, 91.70 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu & Kashmir. One more case of Mucormycosis has been reported today and as such the total number of cases is 31. Out of 3, 18,023 positive cases, 3,344 are active positive, 3, 10,326 have recovered and 4,353 have died; 2,125 in Jammu division and 2,228 in Kashmir division. Out of 1, 04, 41,369 test results available, 1, 01, 23,346 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 25, 16,553 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 7,572 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,344 in isolation and 2, 61,810 in home surveillance. Besides, 22, 39,474 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 70,510 positive cases, 651 active positive, 69,028 recovered, 831 deaths; Baramulla has 23,368 positive cases, 233 active positive, 22,855 recovered, 280 deaths; Budgam has 22,703 positive cases, 188 active positive, 22,311 recovered, 204 deaths; Anantnag has 16,205 positive cases, 96 active positive, 15,905 recovered, 204 deaths; Pulwama has 14,995 positive cases, 131 active positive, 14,671 recovered, 193 deaths. “Kupwara has 13,913 positive cases, 163 active positive, 13,585 recovered, 165 deaths; Kulgam has 11,154 positive cases, 136 active positive, 10,902 recovered, 116 deaths; Ganderbal has 9,705 positive cases, 165 active positive, 9,463 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 9,364 positive cases, 82 active positive, 9,182 recovered, 100 deaths and Shopian has 5,563 positive cases, eight active positive, 5,497 recovered, 58 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 52,500 positive cases, 427 active positive, 50,936 recovered, 1,137 deaths; Udhampur has 11,224 positive cases, 65 active positive, 11,027 recovered, 132 deaths; Rajouri has 10,781 positive cases, 96 active positive, 10,463 recovered, 222 deaths; Kathua has 9,226 positive cases, 15 active positive, 9,062 recovered, 149 deaths; Samba has 7,094 positive cases, 51 active positive, 6,924 recovered, 119 deaths. “Doda has 6,991 positive cases, 225 active positive, 6,645 recovered, 121 deaths; Poonch has 6,158 positive cases, 144 active positive, 5,920 recovered, 94 deaths; Reasi has 6,144 positive cases, 282 active positive, 5,819 recovered, 43 deaths; Ramban has 5,891 positive cases, 86 active positive, 5,740 recovered, 65 deaths and Kishtwar has 4,534 positive cases, 100 active positive, 4,391 recovered, 43 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 3, 18,023 positive cases in J&K, 22,658 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces, wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
