Kishtwar, July 8: People in this district have slammed the officials at the helm of the affairs with regard to flouting of COVID-19 SOPs during today’s visit of Delimitation Commission where large number of people could be seen violating the SOPs.
As per the details available with Early Times, the people have questioned the dual standard of the administration and police who had been at the forefront while making the challan for mask violations in the district. As many as 15 lakhs have been recovered as fine from the violators in the district since the beginning of 2nd phase of the lockdown.
The people said that the SOPs are only for the poor people while there is no rule for the high profile people like politicians and government who could be openly seen violating the COVID SOPs and called upon the authorities to stop harassing the common people. The people said that there is need to lift all the curbs in the district and adjoining Doda District so that people could resume normal activities including the businessman who suffered the most due to lockdown. |
