Jammu, Aug 24: One-week online Faculty Development Program on ‘Cyber Security in Digital Era’ commenced today under the aegis of Computer Sciences, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University. Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor of the University appluded the department for organising the weeklong faculty development program. Prof. Akbar said that the FDP will promote interaction with the scientific communities and provide awareness and training for cyber security. This FDP will provide an overview of cybersecurity, information security and cryptography aspects to help the audience understand importance of these aspects in real life scenarios, Prof. Akbar said. Dr. Majid Bashir Malik, Head of the department, presented the welcome address. He informed that 380 participants have registered in the FDP from 16 different countries, all over the globe. On day one , Dr. Mansaf Alam, Associate Professor, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi delivered talk on Applications of Block Chain in Cyber Security and Dr. Gulfam Ahamad, Assistant Professor, BGSB University delivered talk on Security Concern in Digital Devices. The event was anchored by Syed Tanzeel Rabbani, Research Scholar, department of Computer Science.Dr. Mohammad Naseem and Dr.Gulfam Ahamed, organising secretaries of the FDP briefed the participants about the various topics choosen for discussion in the weeklong program. |
