6 LeT militant aides arrested in Pethkote | | | S Tahir-ul Haq

BANDIPORA, Aug 24: Armed forces on Tuesday busted a militant hideout in Nagmarg forest area of Aloosa of this north Kashmir district, while ten hand grenades were recovered yesterday during a joint search operation in Kralpora Kupwara. A senior police official told Early Times that based on specific information, Army’s 26-Assam Rifles unit launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) following which a militant hideout was busted in Nagmarg forest area, Acting on a specific input about anti national activity in the general area of Bandipora, a Lashkar e Toiba (LeT) module was busted by joint forces. In this regard, 06 terrorist associates have been arrested. Incriminating arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession which includes 02 live hand grenades, 02 Detonators,15 AK Series Rounds , 02 Matrix Sheets and other materials. They have been identified as Muzaffar Mohiuddin Lone, Mohammad Amin Lone, Rizwan Qadir Lone, Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Javaid Ahmed Lone and Mohammad Saleem Khan. On preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that the accused were associated with terror outfit LET and were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to active terrorists of LET in Bandipora district. In this regard Case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up. Meanwhile, ten hand grenades were recovered during a joint search operation conducted by Army’s 160 TA, 17 JAK RIF and SOG Kralpora in a residential house in Kralpora, officials said on Monday evening. Police officials said that based on specific inputs, searches were launched in the residential house of Mohammad Yousuf Mir son of Mohammad Yaseen Mir in Gasla Dardpora Kralpora during which 10 hand grenades were recovered from the house. A case FIR number 92/2021 under Section 3/4 Explosive Substance Act has been registered in this regard at Police Station Kralpora for further investigations, the official said. The house owner’s son Nazir Ahmed Mir has already crossed the LoC in the year 2000 and hasn’t returned back, the official informed. |
