Mayor JMC reviews ongoing development works | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 4: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Ajay Gupta councillor of ward no. 52 today on 04/09/2021 conducted an extensive tour in various localities of the ward & took stock of the ongoing construction work of the Nallah as well as deep drains near Khorana complex near Marble Market, satyam Resort road & its adjoining localities. Rakesh Kumar Gupta Superitending Engineer, S.k Gupta Executive Engineer & other supervisory staff of UEED as well as prominent inhabitants and shopkeepers of the ward no. 52 were also present during the tour. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that the construction work of this Nallah along with other Nallahas in the city were started during the year 2018 under Amrut project with an allotted amount of Rs.200 crore in order to renovate/construct the different Nallahas of Jammu city to provide relief to the citizens from flood like situation in every rainy season. But after the lapse of more than three years, its construction work has not been completed yet due to unknown reasons. The concerned councillor has taken lot of initiatives so that any hindrance coming in the way of its construction be sorted out amicably. Mayor was apprised by the Engineers of UEED that about 80% construction work has already been completed and the remaining one will be over by Dec.2021. Mayor also appealed the general public to come forward & cooperate with JMC & other allied agencies in all the development activities being undertaken in various parts of the city, do not encroach the public drains/Nallahas in their localities and remove it at their own level if any encroachment being done by them, do not throw garbage, filth, wastes etc in the Nallahas so that Jammu can be made neat, clean & green city.
