Congress leaders stage protest seek Priyanka Gandhi's release | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 5: Congress held a strong protest demonstration and sought immediate release of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra-General Secretary AICC in-charge Utter Pradesh. Senior leaders of the party held a strong protest demonstration outside PCC HQ Jammu demanding immediate release of Priyanka, who is currently lodged at Sitapur guest house after being prevented from reaching Lakhimpur Kheri to meet the victims' families. Led by Vice Presidents PCC Mula Ram, Raman Bhalla, in-charge district President and former minister Yogesh Sawhney, general secretary Manmohan Singh and joined by president DCC rural Hari Singh Chib, President Pradesh Mahila Congress Indu Pawar, Uday Bhanu Chib and others. Mula Ram said that Priyanka was going to stand with the families who lost their loved ones in yesterday's violence. It is totally unfair to stop them for discharging duty, he said. He said that the BJP government's inhuman face has come to the fore. It is undemocratic to ignore the demands of the farmers, stalling the farmers' movement, oppressing them and then not allowing any opposition party to stand with them, he said. |
