GGC Samba Organizes Slogan Writing Competition on Blood Donation

Jammu, Oct 18: NSS and Red Ribbon Club of Govt. Degree College Samba in collaboration with J&K AIDS control society, H&ME Department, Jammu, organized a college level Slogan Writing Competition on the theme “Blood Donation Awareness Campaign” as a part of HIV Awareness Campaign under the patronage of worthy Principal, Dr. Naveen Anand on 18th October 2021.
The Awareness campaign was organized for implementation plan for New India @ 75. Students of the college showed active participation in the event and presented their skills and art on the theme. In this event, students prepared various slogans highlighting ideas regarding Blood Donation awareness campaign. The programme started with welcome address, presented by Dr. Narsing Dass, Convener Red Ribbon Club and NSS Programme Officer. The event was judged by Prof. Pawan Kumar Gupta, HOD Commerce, Dr. Ram Singh, HOD, Education, and Prof. Sunita Devi, HOD Sanskrit.
In this competition twenty five students, cadets and volunteers participated enthusiastically by obeying all the SOP guidelines of Covid-19 issued by J&K UT. Kapil Manyal of Sem V was secured first position, Pallavi Devi of Sem-III secured second position and third position was bagged by Sadhana Devi of Sem III. The winners will be rewarded with cash prize of Rs. 1000/-, Rs. 750/- and Rs. 500/ respectively. The programme of attended by and all Red Ribbon and NSS committee members. Dr. Naveen Anand, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of all the participants and emphasized the need of organizing more such activities for increasing blood donation awareness. The event was organized by Dr. Narsing Dass, Convener, Red Ribbon Club and coordinated by NSS and NCC units. In the end Prof. Pawan Kumar Gupta presented the formal vote of thanks.
