JAMMU, Oct 18: Jammu Joint Students' Federation (JJSF) founder members, office bearers, students, staff and other prominent dignitaries paid tributes to the student martyrs of 1966, who had sacrificed their lives for the Jammu cause and performed Havana for the peace of the departed souls. The JJSF volunteers led by Pushvinder Singh Manhas (State President JJSF) and Atul Sudan, State Vice President JJSF paid floral tributes to the student martyrs of 1966 and then performed Havana at Shaheedi Sthal, GGM Science College. JJSF volunteers also distributed Halwa Prasad on the occasion. Meanwhile, ex-minister Choudhary Lal Singh, Chairman JKNPP Prof Bhim Singh, Ravinder Tikkoo, Principal GGM Science College, Ranjit Singh Jamwal, D N Mehta offered juice to Abhishek Sharma, Shubham Sakolia, Kanav Sharma and Anshul Choudhary who were fasting from 16th October in memory of 1966 student martyrs. Addressing the media persons DSSP founder Lal Singh while addressing the gathering said that its very unfortunate that this Dogra state which took its boundaries to Gilgit, Baltistan and Skardoo has been dismembered and reduced to mere a UT. He lambasted the present administration for the pathetic condition of the students for not granting them admission in the colleges. Prof. Bhim Singh who was part of the 1966 agitation shared his views regarding the agitation and assured his full services for the students' community. He strongly advocated for open admissions for all in Jammu University and Cluster University of Jammu.
