KVK Reasi organizes In-service training programme on Cyber Extension | | | Early Times Report REASI, Nov 18: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) organized in-service training programme on "Cyber Extension-An Innovative Approach for Dissemination of Agricultural Information" through virtual mode here today which was attended by a number of Agriculture Department Extension Officers of Udhampur district. The programme was organized under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof JP Sharma and Director Extension (DE) of SKUAST-J, Prof SK Gupta. Dr Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi initiated the programme with a brief introduction of cyber extension. He said that cyber extension is an effective and viable tool of dissemination of agricultural information for the farmers, students, extension personnel, scientists, planners etc. He added that cyber extension is a cheap, updated, time saving and an interactive media for dissemination of agricultural information. He spoke in detail on the tools and techniques of cyber extension and stressed on the role of expert system in solving the agricultural based problems. Dr Suja Nabi Qureshi, Scientist spoke on the organic fruits and vegetables cultivation and stressed on the cluster based approach for promotion of organic farming. He highlighted the formulation and use of organic inputs to reduce the cost of cultivation. He added that if used effectively can be a boon for the farmers of hilly areas. The programme was coordinated by Chief Agriculture Officer, Udhampur, Sanjay Anand and Senior District Agriculture Officer, BK Mahajan. The programme was concluded by Dr Banarsi Lal with the formal vote of thanks. |
