BARAMULLA, Nov 18: Fifty Four positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, due to which District Magistrate Baramulla declared two places as Containment zones. The District Magistrate, Baramulla vide order no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/685 dated 18/11/2021 declared Kashmir University, North Campus, Deline that comes under medical block Sheeri as Micro Containment Zone.
A press statement was issued that said, “Keeping in view the surge in the Covid 19 positive cases in Delina Baramulla more specifically in the vicinity of Kashmir University, North Campus, District Magistrate Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar has declared the said location as micro containment zone today.
The order in this regard has been issued because of the surge in Covid-19 positive cases in the said area. As per the order issued by District Magistrate Baramulla, there will be complete restrictions in the containment zones.These restrictions will include complete lockdown in the said area.
Moreover, tight perimeter control has been ordered in the area except for essential needs, adding besides, movement of the people in and out in the containment zones had been completely barred.
The authorities have also made testing and vaccination mandatory for the residents of the containment zones, said statement.
Meanwhile, another order was issued on 17/11/2021 vide no: DMB/NO/COVID-19/2021/684 wherein DC Baramulla declared Ahmad Complex Baramulla as Micro Containment Zone.
Statement was also issued that said, in view of the surge in the Covid 19 positive cases in Baramulla Town more specifically in the vicinity of Ahmed Complex Baramulla, District Magistrate Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar has declared the said location as micro containment zone today.
The order in this regard has been issued because of the surge in Covid-19 positive cases in the said vicinity.
Following the order, there will be complete restrictions in the containment zones. The restrictions include complete lockdown and tight perimeter control except for essential needs.
Besides, movement of the people in and out in the containment zones had been completely barred, adding the authorities have also made testing and vaccination mandatory for the residents of the containment zones.
It is also learnt that, Jammu and Kashmir have reported 223 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 334823.
According to district wise details of the fresh cases, Srinagar reported 74 cases, Baramulla 54, and the lowest is in Shopian district.
So far 328783 patients have recovered, leaving an active case tally at 1581—257 in Jammu and 1324 in Kashmir.
