Valedictory ceremony of one month programme held at Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: The valedictory ceremony of one month programme by Women Welfare Organization sponsored by SIDBI was held. More than 30 ladies were trained in cutting, tailoring and embroidery in the premises of Environment educational Institute, Jain Bazaar. The chief guest was Sanwal Dogra Manager SIDBI (J&K). President of Women Welfare Organization Usha Anand welcomed the guests and gave detailed account of aims and objectives of the organization. She thanked SIDBI for sponsoring programme which is need of the hour because due to Covid-19 many families have been hard hit financially as their earning partners have either loss their jobs or their income has been reduced so much that it is becoming difficult for them to run their bare minimum expenses. More than 50 percent of our trainees have registered themselves as artisans with department of Handicraft and Handlooms. The President requested to Rajesh Sharma Secretary Impact Handloom Weaving Industrial cooperative Ltd Jammu to engage these ladies in their project of stitching bags and head band used by pilgrims of Vashino Devi shrine. He addressed the beneficiaries and guided them what to do assuring them an income of Rs 400 to 500 per day by doing this job sincerely. More than eight beneficiaries have been allotted loan on the recommendation of Department of Handicraft and Handloom J&K. This is stepping stone for Women Welfare Organization to train more and more beneficiaries through SIDBI and other agencies. The chief guest appreciated the efforts putting by the team of the organization in imparting the training. |
