JBGA urges DC Jammu for early elections | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 18: A delegation of veteran transporters met the Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and submitted the memorandum with demand for conducting the free and transparent elections for Jammu-Banihal Group Association (JBGA). The group manages the affairs of daily service of Stage Carriage buses having Banihal Area Permit with a total strength of 450 buses plying on different routes from Jammu and other Banihal area Bus Stands on rotation buses. The delegation told DC Jammu that it is very ironical that last group election was conducted 13 years ago and was headed by Pritam Singh, who died few months back but the local administration had paid no attention in conducting the election due to reasons best known to them. The transporters had mentioned that neither the elected Group members has shared the Cash flow statements, Profit/loss statement, Balance Sheet, etc with the group transporters and neither the annual general business meetings had been conducted. The transporters have urged the administration to order magisterial probe into the records and financial books of this association and order the concerned to conduct the free and transparent election immediately by taking all necessary Covid-19 SOPs and precautions, so that the grievances and demands of the Jammu-Banihal Group transporters could be addressed more effectively and promptly. |
