| Rajesh Gupta urges PM to grant ST status to Pahari speaking people | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 14: Rajesh Gupta Vice-President Aam Aadmi Party Jammu-Poonch parliamentary constituency today said that the recent move of UT administration in which three percent reservation was extended to Pahari speaking people was politically motivated as the real beneficiaries i.e.
PoK Displaced Persons who are by clan Paharis haven’t been incorporated in ambit of reservation that is yet another discriminative move to deprive PoK DPs from their legitimate rights.
Gupta said this while addressing POK refugees at party headquarters Jammu.
He urged upon PM Modi led government to grant Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the all Pahari speaking people of J&K.
He said the government should have taken all the Pahari speaking people of the UT into consideration before granting reservation according to their cultural, linguistic, geographical identities but on what grounds and which logic the so called move of providing reservation to handful people hailing from two districts Poonch and Rajouri was taken |
