Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 14: A day after the dreaded terror attack in the Zewan area of Srinagar city in which three cops of Jammu and Kashmir Police attained martyrdom, Union Government has asked intelligence agencies to give authentic feedback about the real ground situation in J&K in general and Valley in particular.
Highly placed sources said that instead of depending upon “misleading” feedback of the present J&K government, the Union Government has asked intelligence agencies to prepare a detailed report about the ground situation in J&K.
“For the last one year, the J&K government is sending misleading feedback about improving the situation in the UT but in a real situation is worsening with every passing day”, a source in the administration said and added that intelligence agencies have already warned that the system is completely collapsed in J&K with governance deficit.
Highly placed sources said that intelligence agencies have repeatedly warned that due to rampant corruption, chaos, and anarchy in the administration, anger brewing among people and anti-national elements are taking benefit of this chaotic situation.
“The incumbent J&K government is giving misleading feedback to the Union Government through a coterie of Babus which is more concerned about their luxuries and protocols instead of protecting nation’s interests”, a source said.
Highly placed sources said that some intelligence agencies have recently cautioned the government that governance in J&K appeared only on social media but on the ground situation is turning from bad to worse due to lack of transparency and accountability in the administration.
“It was also warned in these reports that anti-national elements would take undue benefits of governance deficit in J&K but no action has been taken so far”, sources said.
After September 22 Jammu bandh, intelligence agencies have suggested the J&K government take some pro-people steps to placate annoyed people of Jammu but to avail.
