Admin has failed to provide sense of security to common people: Omar | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 14: National Conference Vice president Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that Jammu and Kashmir government miserably failed to provide a sense of security to common people and alleged fear is looming large with everyone feeling insecure. “People are feeling insecure due to the spate of gunfights, attacks and killings”, Omar said while talking to media persons on the sidelines of workers convention in the Central Kashmir district of Ganderbal. He said “during his government the areas which were cleared of bunkers and militancy related incidents, witnessed frequent attacks and fresh constructions of new bunkers”. “We reduced the presence of troops in Kashmir valley, but today there are additional troops deployment”, he said and added “these forces are being stationed in marriage halls and community halls which were meant for use of the local people for occasions”. Omar said, NC organizing political rallies should not be linked with polls. “We want to reach every worker of the party and listen to them, get their feedback and share ours as well”, he said. “We don’t believe in double speak,” he said. Asked whether he would contest polls from Ganderbal, Omar said when the election bugle hasn’t been blown yet, why talk about contesting polls. “I haven’t come here to cut somebody’s mandate or to give mandate to someone,” he said. |
