J&K has second highest unemployed graduates, postgraduates | Figures paint grim picture of employment scenario in UT | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 14: Periodical labour force survey conducted by the National Statistical Officer has revealed that unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir is on rise among the men and women. According to the government figures unemployment rate among males in rural areas having passed class 10th stands at 1.6%, for the ones having cleared class 12th it stands at 9.8%, for diploma and certificate holders it stands at 58.3%, for graduates it’s 14.9% and for post graduates it’s 7.9%. In urban areas unemployment rate among males having passed class 10th is 4%, class 12th is 12.8%, diploma holders, 18.9%, graduates, 13.9% and post graduates is 10.8%. The figures revealed that unemployment rate among males in urban areas who have passed class 10th is 4%, class 12th is 12.8%, diploma holders is 18.9%, graduates is 13.1% and post graduates is 10.8%.. Among the females in urban areas unemployment stands at 33.1% among the matriculates, 48.2% among 12th pass, 25.2% among diploma holders, graduates and post graduates and 44.8%. According to these figures J&K has the second highest unemployed graduates, while Nagaland has the highest in the country. Similarly J&K also has second highest unemployed postgraduates and Andaman has the highest. |
