JAMMU, Dec 14: On the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, Department of Physics, Government GLDM Degree College Hira Nagar, organized a webinar under the aegis of “Azadi ka Amritav Mahotsav” on the themes “Energy Efficient India” and “Cleaner Planet”. The event was organized in collaboration with internal quality assurance cell of the college. The resource person on the occasion was Dr. Ajit Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering and Physical Science, Lovely Professional University, Punjab. Dr. Ajit, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and University of Allahabad, is working on the development of Green Innovation Technology and has about four US grant patents, five international patents and about 50 SCI research publications to his name. In the webinar, he stressed upon the need of alternative sources of energy and the replacing the non-renewable sources of energy by renewable ones. He deliberated that the most important component of being an environmentally responsible consumer is to reduce, reuse and recycle. |
