USTA delegation meets Principal Secy SED, lists demands | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 4: A delegation of J&K United School Teachers' Association (USTA) called on the Principal Secretary, School Education Department (SED), here today at his office in the Civil Secretariat. Led by USTA Provincial President, Dr Shashi Pal Singh, the delegation apprised Principal Secretary, SED, BK Singh, about various issues being faced by the teaching fraternity working in J&K government run schools. Provincial president USTA, Dr Shashi Pal Singh put forth the demand of repatriation of Headmasters serving in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts at the fag end of their service, regularization of Lecturers of the remaining seven subjects viz Mathematics and English, grant of Senior Teacher Scale to trained undergraduate teachers, holding of DPC from teachers to masters as the same has not been done since 2014, improvement in infrastructure of schools, restoration of Old Pension Scheme in favour of all the teaching fraternity and increase in education sector budget. The Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to the issues and assured the members of the delegation that their genuine demands would be taken up on priority and readdressed on merit at the earliest. |
