JAMMU, Jan 4: A two-day long winter camp for Specially abled children organized by the NSS unit of GGM Science College at MUSKAN, a charitable home for mentally challenged children, concluded today. The camp was organized under the patronage of Principal Dr Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO, Dr Deepali Mahajan. ‘From Isolation to Inclusion’ was the theme of this two day special winter camp. About 25 children including both girls and boys played various games with NSS team. The regular participation in physical activities like playing games increases competency in gross motor skills, helps to control obesity, improves self-esteem and social skills, encourages an active lifestyle, and maintain motivation in various areas of life. On the second day, painting was arranged by NSS team. The volunteers helped the children to draw colour their imaginations on paper with the warmth of love and happiness. The camp concluded with prize distribution. Medals and gifts were distributed among them. The Principal, faculty of the college and the staff of MUSKAN appreciated the efforts of NSS GGM Science College and its PO. The Disability Inclusion allows accessibility so that everyone can fully participate in society without barriers to achieve their goals, desires to thrive in life. |
