Covid-19: Talab Tillo traders to emulate voluntary weekend lockdown | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 20: While welcoming the announcement of voluntary weekend lockdown by the Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market, the Talab Tiloo Traders Association (TTTA) has also decided to emulate the voluntary weekend lockdown. Addressing media persons here today, President Talab Tilloo Traders Association, Rajan Gupta said that the traders of Talab Tilloo area have come to the conclusion that weekend lockdown is in the ultimate welfare of the traders and the people at large in the present crisis situation having arisen due to sudden surge in Covid-19 cases during the past over a week. Gupta said that in view of the appeals made by the administration for adherence to voluntary weekend lockdowns and reduce the crowds at business establishments the traders feel it their duty to fully cooperate in fighting the third wave by voluntarily staggering to schedules that would reduce crowding. He said that being part of a responsible trade body, all the members of the Talab Tilloo Traders Association have unanimously decided to observe the weekend lockdown on Saturdays and Sundays. However the traders dealing in essential supplies shall remain open on the weekends, he said. |
