BASOHLI, Jan 30: Government Degree College (GDC) Basohli organized an online lecture to observe the "Martyrs Day" under the aegis of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav". The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Nidhi Kotwal, Principal, GDC Basohli. The ceremony commenced at 11.00 AM by observing two minutes of silence in the memory of martyred freedom fighters. On this occasion, Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Head, Department of Botany delivered a lecture and remembered the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and his contributions to the Indian freedom struggle, especially the principles of non-violence. He also paid homage to Saheed Bhagat Singh, Chandershekhar Azad, Rani Lakhmi Bhai, Lala Lajpatrai, Subash Chander Bose and other freedom fighters who sacrificed their life for the nation. All the faculty members and 29 students attended the lecture. The event was organized by Prof. Pawan Kumar and Dr. Kehar Singh. |
