If New Delhi can end lockdown, why not JK: Kadfeen | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 30: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Sunday has urged the government to consider the lifting the curbs imposed otherwise to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Jammu and Kashmir. Kadfeen in a statement issued here said that given the fact that the Omicron variant is least dangerous when compared to other variants of COVID, the government should allow the business establishments and educational institutions to function with the least curbs. He added that the national capital- New Delhi- in spite of being an epicenter of the deadly virus has lifted the curbs, it is ironic that place like Jammu and Kashmir where the economy is already doldrums is still mulling overtaking any such measures. Kadfeen added that though Covid appropriate behavior must be adopted at all public places. However, making lockdown and curbs on economic activities the only way out is incongruous. He maintained that the unorganized sectors are worst hit by such government decisions and that the need of the hour is to ensure that people’s livelihood is not affected by longer due to such frequently imposed curbs and lockdowns. |
