Even after 70-years of Independence, this Bandipora village has no basic amenities | | | Early Times Report
Knayari (Bandipora), Jan 30: Kanyari village in Sonawari area in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District has been without basic amenities for the past 70-years. Residents while talking to a local news channel said, “We have no road, no electricity, no water connections. Whenever we approach the concerned departments to provide us with the basic amenities we are told to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC). On many occasions we have been told that we are not the residents of this place.” “When Shah Faesal was DC Bandipora he had visited our village and instructed the concerned to provide us with the basic facilities. Even the incumbent DC Bandipora has directed the officials to issue a NOC for our area. But the officials are just making us run and are not doing anything to mitigate our sufferings,” they said. “It seems that we don’t exist for the government. None of the former dispensations did anything for us. We appeal to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and direct the concerned authorities to provide us with the basic necessities of life.” |
