Kashmir receives snow, rains | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 3: Both rains and snow lashed Kashmir on Thursday although the minimum temperature in the Valley improved due to an overcast sky. The Meteorological Department said the upper reaches of the Valley including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Kupwara, Kokernag and Qazigund received fresh spell of snow while other parts were lashed by rains, intensifying the cold conditions overnight. Srinagar and its adjoining areas were lashed by rains disrupting life and travel. The overall weather is likely to remain erratic. Occasional snowfall is forecast at scattered places till February 8, the MeT office said. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was 0.6 degrees Celsius against minus 1.9 degrees recorded a day back. Srinagar also received 6.4 mm of rain till 8.30 am on Thursday. Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 6 degrees Celsius against minus 8 degrees the previous night. It received 21.6 mm of rainfall and 19.0 cm of snowfall.
