Mukti demands formation of Special Court for fast track trial | Acid attack on girl in Srinagar | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 3: Expressing deep sympathies with the 24 year old victim girl of Srinagar district who received burnt injuries with the acid attack on Tuesday in Hawal area of Srinagar, Mukti, a Jammu based volunteer organization working for the welfare and rights of the women of J&K, strongly condemned this gruesome criminal act and called it attack not only on the victim but on the society as a 'whole'. Nidhi Sharma, Founder and Chairperson of the Mukti organization said while all girls and women of Jammu and Kashmir and even of whole India share the pain and trauma the victims passing through but, this heinous act of criminals is a challenge to the society as a whole. She said, it is responsibility of each of us in the society to come forward and stand together with the victim and her family and provide them all possible help. 'Government and Society must stand together with the victim and the culprits must face the law of the land' she urged. Though Nidhi appreciated the Srinagar district Police for arresting the accused within hours of the crime but she demanded for formation of a special court for fast track trial of the accused and appointment of Special Public Prosecutor to plead this case so that the culprits spent their lives behind the bars and a deterrence message is sent in the society. She also made and appeal to the Chairperson of National Commission for Women to visit the victim and her family and extend all possible legal and logistic support to come out of this trauma. |
