Chairman Advisory Board gets extension of two years | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 3: The Advisory Board has been constituted under the Public Safety Act, 1978 with its Chairman being a retired Judge of the High Court and two members. D K Kapoor and Aijaz Ahmad Mir, both retired District and Sessions Judges have already been appointed as members and already functioning in the Board for over one and half year. There has been extension in the term of Chairman, Advisory Board under Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act 1978, Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Aet, 1988 and Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Essential Commodities Act, 1980. "In exercise of the powers conferred by sub section 4 of section 14 of the J&K Public Safety Act 1978, sanction is hereby accorded to the extension in the term of Shri Janak Raj Kotwal (Rtd) Judge, Jammu and Kashmir High Court as Chairman Advisory Board under the Act for a period of two years," reads the reference U.O. No. Law-L.cg/92/2021-10 dated 10-1-2022 of Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs\ Government Order No. Home /PB-V/ 133 of 2022 06-02-2022 to 05-02-2024. He shall also function as Chairman, Advisory Boards, in terms of the provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1988 and the Prevention of Black Marketing and Maintenance of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 for such extended term. The other terms and conditions of the Chairman shall remain same as stipulated in Government Order No. Home -156/PB-V of 2019 dated 1-2-2019. |
