Assam lifts night curfew, J&K Govt in no mood | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 7: As the Covid-19 third wave has started relenting many states and union territories across the country are making preparations to put life back on track, but in Jammu and Kashmir, the government is following the old guidelines that were issued soon after the pandemic broke out. On Sunday the J&K Government decided to lift the weekend lockdown restrictions but directed that night curfew would remain in force and educational institutions would remain closed. The Assam Government has decided to withdraw all Covid restrictions from February 15 so that life returns to normal and people heave a sigh of relief. There will be no night curfew and lockdowns, people have been asked to wear masks and take care of their hand hygiene. An observer while talking to Early Times said, “The Covid cases in Jammu and Kashmir are on decline, the hospitalization rate is low despite that the government has not withdrawn the night curfew, nor it seems in mood to reopen the schools.” He said, “The bureaucrats managing J&K need to peep outside the windows of their cozy offices and how governments in other states are taking pro-people decisions. The Covid third wave has been mild and is losing the sting. Helmsmen in J&K need to take people-friendly decisions rather than beating around the bush.” |
