Month on, babus sit over selection list forwarded by PSC
Keep appointment orders in limbo, verification pending

Early Times Report
jammu, Feb 16: Leave aside withdrawing thousands of posts from JKPSC and SSB, the Jammu and Kashmir administration seems least interested even in issuing appointment orders of those candidates who were selected by the J&K Public Service Commission and are awaiting posting orders.
As per the sources, the selection list of more than seven subjects duly forwarded to the administration by the JKPSC has been kept in limbo for more than a month. No forwarded movement vis-à-vis the posting of the selected candidates is being witnessed.
Sources divulged further that even when the selected candidates have submitted their verification rolls in the higher education department, same aren't even forwarded to the concerned quarters for scrutiny that could have paved way for the posting of the selected candidates. Though after several pleas made to the helmsmen, no concrete action till date has been taken. "In pursuance to JKPSC selection list submitted to the Principal Secretary Higher Education department for issuance of appointment orders in favour of selected candidates for the post of assistant professor in various pending subjects namely water management, Bio Resources, environmental sciences, Urdu, Public Administration, Home Science, Bio Technology., accordingly, the verification is completed from the concerned quarters. Fortunately, the department has released a press release on 06-02-2021 which clarified that only the posts in respect of which selection have not been made and the results have not been declared have been withdrawn. Further, it has also been clarified that candidates in whose favor selection has been done will not be affected by this order and only the posts wherein no action has been made or under litigation stand withdrawn.
In view of the above facts, we the selected candidates of various subjects do request your gracious self to kindly issue a circular and advice higher education department to process our files for appointment at an earliest," reads the representation subjected by the selected candidates of seven subjects to Secretary GAD, Jammu and Kashmir government.
Meanwhile sources inform that the dilatory mode of functioning in the government which is calling shots at the present time is the main reason for such worrisome trend. "What we are witnessing is irony of sorts. The candidates immensely qualified and selected ones are treated like cannon fodder with no heed being paid to their absolutely genuine concerns. It is a worrisome trend and it bellies the claims of the administration about fast tracking the appointments and according good governance to the citizenry," says an official privy to the issue.
