Jammu region yet again discriminated in J&K Bank promotions: Harsh Dev Singh | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Mar 7: Pointing towards the recent promotions made in J&K Bank to the rank of Assistant Vice Presidents (AVPs), Harsh Dev Singh Chairman-JKNPP said that Jammu region has once again been doled out the most contemptuous and humiliating treatment by disregarding its potential talent and granting a lion's share to the Kashmir region officers in the final list issued in this regard. Singh said that out of 28 candidates promoted as AVPs, 23 belonged to Kashmir division with the rest five candidates belonging to Jammu region. And out of these five also, three offices had already settled in Delhi and were working in Delhi zone of the bank. Thus the substantive share of Jammu region in AVPs had been reduced to merely two which was the most discriminatory treatment ever to the already incarcerated land of dogras, he said. "The net results of the said promotions would be non-availability of officers of Jammu region at top positions in the J&K Bank in the near future thereby ensuring monopolization of bank's control in the hands of officers belonging to a particular region," said Singh while addressing the workers after inaugurating the party office at Udhampur. Singh said that out of 110 officers shortlisted for interviews, 60 belonged to Jammu region and around 50 to Kashmir region. He said that the ultimate list released by the J&K Bank therefore amply demonstrates the extremely biased nature of selections necessitating a high level probe. He said that even in 2016, the J&K Bank had cancelled the select list of Banking Associates and Banking Assistants only for the reason that the share of Jammu region in the said selections was higher than that of Kashmir. Divulging that Jammu region had been meted out with worst ever discrimination in past seven decades since BJP assumed to power, Singh said the region remained marginalized, subjugated and incarcerated under Saffron rule. "May it be devolution of funds, developmental projects, power sector, tourism, govt jobs or any other sphere, the Dogra land had been despicably disregarded, neglected and ignored," said Singh. |
