Thanamandi residents, shopkeepers suffer due to faulty drainage system | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Mar 7: Residents and shopkeepers of Thanamandi town in this border district are up in arms against the local administration alleging that the faulty drainage system in the area has compounded the problems with nobody listening to them and solving the problems. The protesters said that although an amount of more than 80 lakhs was spent on the drainage system in the Thanamandi town there has been no difference as the drains continue to be blocked. They said that rainfall of few millimetres blocks the drains and the water gets spilled over on to the main road. The shopkeepers said that they are made to sweat it out and use all the means to throw out the accumulated water out of their shops. They said that their repeated requests have fallen on deaf ears with the people at helm shifting blaming on one another. |
