Police should register FIR against Ganderbal Admin: Altaf Bukhari | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 7: President of Apni Party, Altaf Bukhari, on Monday reiterated his demand to hold an enquiry from top to bottom in unfortunate death of a youth Ganderbal youth, who had set himself ablaze to protest demolition of his building. Bukhari while talking to Early Times said, “The inquiry which the government has ordered is eyewash. The real probe would have been if it would have started from top and reached the bottom.” He demanded that the Police should register an FIR against the district administration as the youth has died. Altaf Bukhari last month had hit out at Ganderbal administration for “mishandling” the demolition drive which led to a youth setting himself on fire. “The administration has put the blame on a tehsildar and naib tehsildar for the incident. The naib tehsildar has been suspended. These officials have been turned into scapegoats. Had I been there I would have sought the explanation from the Deputy Commissioner of the district. In J&K action is taken against low rung officials and top brass remains untouched,” he had said. ‘“There is martial law in J&K. One fails to understand why no attention was paid towards human life when the demolition drive was carried out. Even during the operations against anti-nationals the human lives are first saved then any operation is carried out,” Bukhari had said. |
