Police solves Shopian grenade attack case | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 22: J&K Police on Tuesday said it had solved a recent grenade attack case by arresting the accused persons. A Central Reserve Police Force jawan was wounded in a grenade attack on Saturday evening in south Kashmir's Shopian district. "During investigation of a grenade attack case Shopian police based on reliable sources picked up one suspect identified as Fazil-bin-Rashid of Melhura. During questioning, he disclosed that he was working with one active terrorist namely Basit Ahmed linked with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba's The Resistance Front of Frisal Kulgam and on his instructions, he threw a grenade," a police statement said. "He further disclosed that he lobbed the grenade as a task given by the said terrorist in order to join the terrorist ranks," it added. Police said during further questioning, he disclosed the name of another accused person identified as Qaiser Zahoor Khan son of Nowpora Safakadal, Srinagar. "On the disclosure of accused Qaiser Khan, incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including three Chinese pistols, six magazines, four grenades and 30 rounds have been recovered," police said "All the accused persons involved in the terror crime have been arrested and further investigation is going on," it said |
