Jammu, Apr 15: Making mockery of PM Modi’s repeated assurances of empowering local bodies the concerned authorities have dropped about 8 names of needy people for housing assistance under popular Pradhan Mandti Awas Yogna (PMAY) scheme. The case was of Panchayat parla , village biaspur parla in Suchetgarh Constituency of R.S pura at Indo-Pak international border wherein 11 Panches submitted 25 name 25 names of persons who are in dire need of dwelling. But, to their utter disappointment the finalised list only had 22 names of which eight were of those which were not send by the Panches “, said Darshan Kundal panch. “Some of the people in the selected list already had houses while some others were those whose siblings were already beneficiaries of PMAY scheme and in doing so the fresher beneficiaries were ignored,” he added. Parshotam Singh, whose name was in the proposal list was in dire need of house but final list when come out than his name was dropped “, he maintained The aggrieved people today staged a protest demonstration against this and raised slogans against Block Development Committee (BDC) members and District Development Council (DDC) members and concern Sarpanch. The protesters demanded that if the ignored names are not included soon, the protest will be intensified. When contacted ACD Jammu, he said that as per Panchayat list the authorities would have been selected the beneficiaries but the same was not done. He assured to check if any name included in the selection list was already having a house. He also said that those whose names were dropped will be accommodated in next list. |
