Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 16: The Aam Aadmi Party led government in Punjab has announced 300 units of free power to every Punjab home.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today announced 300 units of free electricity each month for every household in the state from July 1.
Mann said Scheduled Castes, backward castes, below-poverty-line households and freedom fighters currently getting free 200 units each month will now get 300 units of electricity monthly.
Just within a month after coming into power, AAP has taken major decisions like regularizing daily wagers, restricting private schools from hiking the fees and no announcing 300 units of free power in every Punjab home.
An observer while talking to Early Times said, “The rulers in J&K should take a lesson from Punjab Chief Minister, who within a month has taken the decisions that benefit a common man directly.”
He said, “Despite Jammu and Kashmir supplying power to different parts of the country, consumers are not even provided a single unit free. Forget free electricity we don’t even get the regular power supply even after paying the hefty bills.”
It’s in place to mention here that Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited (JPDCL) is looking at a possible deficit of 200 Megawatts and if the corporation is unable to fill in the gap it will lead to severe power crisis in Jammu in the coming summer season.
