J&K EPFO employees stage protest, allege delay in resolving issues
4/20/2022 11:42:00 PM

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 20: The employees of J&K Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) staged a protest demonstration here today under the banner of J&K EPFO Union in support of their long pending demands.
Raising slogans against the government, the protesting J&K EPFO employees said that various representations have been sent in the last two years regarding their pending demands and every time they get assurances that their issues will be resolved sooner than later.
"Following implementation of J&K Reorganization Act 2019 the J&K EPF Act 1961 got repealed, all the PF deposits of the subscribers had to be transferred to Central EPFO. All our staff members put hard efforts to accomplish the exercise. We even worked day and night during corona periods," said General Secretary of the Union.
"We have certain pending matters including HR issues which concern the careers of our staff members but for the last two years we are getting only verbal assurances from the authorities of resolving all the issues within a month. They still are saying this but we want written assurance with regard to resolution of all the issues in a time bound manner and nothing else," he added.
He further said that the merger of J&K EPFO staff into Central EPFO is being delayed for the reason best known to the authorities at the helm of affairs.
"We were given an option to stay with the J&K EPFO or to merge with the Central EPFO. Let the authorities decide the matter. We will accept whatever decision is being made. But the authorities first must come up with a written notification in this regard," he said.
