First-time Jammu experiencing power cuts in April
'Transforming J&K'

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 20: While the Jammu and Kashmir Government is spending crores and crores rupees on its publicity to mislead the Union Government, it is the first time in history that the Jammu region is experiencing unprecedented unscheduled power cuts in April.
Earlier during the months of February, March, and April, the Jammu region used to receive uninterrupted power supply but it is the first time in the history of J&K that the Jammu province is experiencing unscheduled power cuts in the month of April.
Power cuts are not only confined to unmetered areas but even in the metered areas-where consumers are regularly paying their bills, are experiencing hours-long unscheduled and unprecedented power cuts.
Earlier Jammu used to experience such power curtailments in May, June, July, August, and September but this year cuts have started from mid-April which is a clear indication that power infrastructure is likely to collapse in the coming summer months. With the return of unprecedented power cuts, the Jammu region appears to be plunged into a dark age thanks to insensitive, arrogant bureaucrats at the helm of the affairs. In the last ten days the Jammu region witnessed historic power cuts, the authorities had claimed that the system has been streamlined and there will be no unscheduled power curtailment. For the last two days, many parts of the Jammu region are confronting with unscheduled power cuts after repeated intervals, which is a clear indication that all claims of the authorities are confined only to papers.
As the whole Jammu region is plunged into crisis due to unprecedented power cuts and an acute shortage of potable water, people have reason to question arrogant bureaucrats who have no time to respond to their distress calls. Anger is brewing among people against officers for maintaining a criminal silence over the plight of the people.
