Shivsena flays Govt for pressuring employees to attend PM's rally
Let teachers do their jobs: Sahni
4/20/2022 11:42:37 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 20: After abrogation of Article 370 from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, there is an atmosphere of special enthusiasm among the people, especially the youth, industrialists and representatives of all Panchayats, regarding the first visit of the Prime Minister to Jammu on April 24, while the local leaders of BJP and J&K Govt making all possible efforts to mobilize the crowd for the upcoming rally to pat their back. Relying on the bureaucracy, efforts are being made to make the rally a big success by taking the help of government employees, especially teachers.
This was stated by Manish Sahni, President J&K Shiv Sena while addressing media persons here at Party's State Office in Jammu today.
Sahni strongly condemned the move of government for asking teachers to be part of the crowd in the government surveys and rallies. He said that the tradition of using teachers as spare tool should be stopped immediately as the teachers are playing a vital role in shaping the future of society and the country through education. Whether there is a government survey or gathering crowd in the rallies of big ruling leaders, first of all instructions are issued for the deployment of teachers.
Sahni said that the administrative high officials who issued these instructions forget that even in the era of cororna epidemic, the teachers performed their duty well through online education and put their lives at risk and also carried out the duty outside the home as well.
Referring to an administrative order issued recently, Sahni said that about 600 teachers have been directed to collect data of unemployed youth of their respective areas by visiting door to door after performing their school duties while about 2300 teachers have invited to attend the Prime Minister's rally on Sunday due to which there is a lot of displeasure among these teachers as most of them are women who have to take care of their families along with their jobs. "It is unfair and inhumane treatment to be engaged in other work outside their profession after duty time," he added.
Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha that instead of mobilizing crowds in rallies and dragging the employees into such activities like any government survey, the teachers should be engaged in the work of improving quality education.
Among others who were present in the press conference include General Secretary Vikas Bakshi and In-charge Udhampur Ashwani Prabhakar were also present.
