Dogs unleash terror in Srinagar Smart City, bite 39, including 17 tourists | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 30: Tall claims of the Jammu and Kashmir administration to turn Srinagar into a “Smart City” were punctured yet again on Friday evening, when stray dogs bit thirty nine people, including 17 tourists, in Dalgate area. The injured were shifted to a hospital. Kawaljeet Singh, Medical Superintendent at Srinagar's SMHS hospital confirmed that 39 people with dog bites reported at the hospital. Dalgate area on the bank of the Dal Lake is the hub of tourist activity in Srinagar city. It’s thronged by a large number of tourists in the evening. “Is this the Smart City which the J&K Government keeps on boasting about? The dog attack has created fear psychosis among the tourists and has sent the wrong message across,” said a local resident. |
