Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 15: A five-member sport climbing team from J&K, comprising Shivani Charak, Ayaana Bhagat, Kashish Bharti, Siraj ud Din, and Arun Deep Singh, has left for Bengaluru to represent the North Zone in the 28th National Sport Climbing Championship. The event will take place at the Yavanika Climbing Wall, State Youth Centre, Bengaluru, from January 18 to 20, 2025. Shivani Charak, an international climber, is the team's coach and manager. The team underwent rigorous training at international-standard climbing walls in Delhi before heading to Bengaluru. The climbers earned their spots in the North Zone team through outstanding performances at the North Zone Sport Climbing Competition. Shivani secured one gold and two silver medals, while Siraj ud Din, Ayaana, Kashish, and Arun Deep each won medals. The Mountaineering Association of J&K, led by President Zorawar Singh Jamwal and General Secretary Shawetica Khajuria, along with the J&K Sports Council, have extended their best wishes to the team. |
